A Season of Growth: Graduation, Music, and Building G2G Muzic
The past few weeks have been a whirlwind, but when I pause to reflect, I’m truly thankful for everything that’s unfolded.
There’s been a significant leap in my music, in G2G Muzic, in how I handle social media and promotion, and one of the most rewarding achievements of this season—I’ve officially wrapped up my Music Production program at Los Angeles Film School.
Finishing What I Started 🎓
Completing school was a monumental moment for me.
I wrapped up my final class with a stellar 99.6%, and the program itself with a 3.75 GPA. My graduation ceremony is still on the horizon, but the hard work is done.
And it was definitely hard work.
Throughout the program, I immersed myself in music production, audio, digital audio workstations (DAWs) like Pro Tools, Logic Pro, and Ableton Live, music theory, communication, creative development, and the business side of the industry.
One of my final projects was a creative pitch centered around a promotional concept for Christian hip-hop artist SEVIN of Hog Mob performing live at Virginia Tech. I crafted the promotional concept and poster, and then presented and pitched the idea.
Projects like that reminded me that my learning extends beyond just creating beats or recording songs. I’m continually honing the skills needed to develop ideas, communicate them, promote them, and bring them to life.
Now, I’m eager to apply those tools directly to what we’re creating with G2G Muzic.
The Story Behind the Songs 🎤
Another significant milestone has been launching a new content series called Only God Knows: The Story Behind the Songs.
I want people to experience my music not just as records, but to understand the life experiences that inspire them.
We kicked off Episode 1 with “Wake Up Call.”
“Wake Up Call” tells the story of the moment God reached me in the place He knew would forever change my heart—my mind.
I had absorbed knowledge from countless sources, but God revealed that what I truly needed was more than knowledge; I needed truth.
And He didn’t just show me the truth.
He revealed Himself to me.
That became a major turning point in my life and in my faith, and now I’m able to look back and explain how moments like that eventually helped shape Brother Q.
There are a lot more songs and a lot more stories to tell.
Becoming More Intentional With the Music
Behind the scenes, I’ve also continued sharpening my production and engineering.
I’ve been working on new beats, revisiting mixes, learning to make better decisions with dynamics, stereo movement, compression, EQ, and mastering, and becoming more intentional about why I make each move instead of simply adding processing because I can.
One of the records I’m currently revisiting is “Christlike.” Rather than just throwing a mastering chain on the finished mix, I decided to go back to the source, listen to the record without the master-bus processing, and rebuild from there.
That’s part of the growth too.
Sometimes getting better isn’t about adding more. Sometimes it’s about stripping things back, listening again, and making better decisions with what you already have.
I’m also continuing to write and collaborate, including new work with my producer DAtABAsE.
The music isn’t slowing down.
Building the G2G Muzic Presence
We’ve also been putting real work into promotion.
Instead of only dropping a song and telling people to listen, I’m becoming more intentional about creating content that gives people a reason to connect with the person, message, and story behind the music.
That includes TikTok, Instagram, Facebook, YouTube Shorts, Snapchat Spotlight, and Public Story, along with developing consistent visuals for Brother Q and G2G Muzic.
Some posts are promotional. Some are encouraging. Some invite conversation. Others take people behind the music.
It’s all part of building something bigger than a single release.
And through it all, the mission hasn’t changed:
Created to Inspire. Built to Glorify.
What’s Next?
Graduating doesn’t feel like the end of something.
It feels like I’ve added another set of tools to my toolbox.
There’s more music coming, more production, more episodes of Only God Knows, more content, more development for G2G Muzic, and most importantly, more opportunities to represent Jesus Christ through what I create and how I live.
One Scripture that speaks to where I am right now is Philippians 1:6 (NLT):
“And I am certain that God, who began the good work within you, will continue his work until it is finally finished on the day when Christ Jesus returns.”
That’s how I look at this season.
I’m thankful for what has been accomplished, but I also know God isn’t finished with me yet. School was part of the journey. The music is part of the journey. G2G Muzic is part of the journey. And wherever God takes it from here, I want Him to receive the glory.
I’m thankful for everybody who has supported me—from the people who have been there since day one to the new people who have recently discovered Brother Q and G2G Muzic.
We’re still building.
We’re still learning.
We’re still creating.
And we’re giving God the glory through all of it.
