Crazee Times means trusting God-2 Corinthians 10:5

Lately, life has really felt like “Crazy Times.”

I had some health issues going on. The headaches started coming back, the dizziness started coming back, and I found myself having to slow down at work. Eventually, I went to the hospital, and after being examined, I was told there appeared to be about a five-percent growth in my tumor.

Of course, hearing something like that can immediately send your mind in a hundred different directions.

I then had to go to UVA to see my actual brain surgeon and have another MRI done. After looking at everything more closely, I received some much better news. What appeared to be growth was actually part of the normal process my brain is going through after surgery. Because of the nature of what they were seeing, they couldn't simply put a volume on it and call it tumor growth.

So, in essence, what sounded like bad news turned into a praise report.

God is good.

As far as the headaches and dizziness are concerned, I’ll be going through vestibular physical therapy to help address those symptoms. But the situation that had the potential to fill my mind with fear turned out very differently from what I had initially been told.

Then came another crazy moment.

That weekend, before I did my radio appearance, I went to church. We were talking about the battlefield of the mind and bringing our thoughts into captivity in Christ.

And while I’m sitting there in church hearing this message, I receive a text telling me that I had been laid off from my job.

Talk about timing.

But here’s the part that really made me stop and look at what God was doing.

That Friday, when I had gone to the doctor, I had also received an email from another employer asking if I wanted to come work for them.

Think about that.

Before I even received the news that I was being laid off, another opportunity was already being placed in front of me.

I went to the interview, and everything went well. Now, it’s simply a matter of the background check being completed successfully, and then I can start working.

When I look back at everything together, I can see something that would have been easy to miss while I was in the middle of it.

While crazy things were happening around me, God was already making provision.

While I was hearing one thing about my health, God already knew what the next MRI would reveal.

While one job was preparing to let me go, another opportunity had already reached out to me.

And while my mind had every reason to start running with fear, worry, and uncertainty, God had me sitting in church hearing a message about taking those very thoughts captive.

You can’t tell me God wasn’t in the midst of all of that.

Sometimes we look at everything happening around us and start believing the enemy is in control because of how chaotic things appear. But chaos does not mean God has lost control.

We may be living in crazy times. We may experience crazy situations in our own lives. There may be moments when we don’t understand what God is doing or why He is allowing certain things to happen.

But there is still only one God that the world is going to know.

And He is sovereign over all things.

Nothing caught Him by surprise. Nothing slipped out of His hands. Nothing that happened to me happened without Him already knowing what was coming next.

That doesn’t mean every situation will always turn out exactly how we want it to. It means that even when I can’t see what God is doing, I can trust the One who can see the whole picture.

These really are crazy times.

But through my own crazy times, God reminded me of something:

He was already there.

He was already working.

And He was already making a way.

God is good. All the time. 🙏🏽
